The AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies Score High in US News & World Report/NCQA Rankings
U.S. News & World Report/NCQA America’s Best Health Plans 2007 rates Passport Health Plan, #11, the AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan , #30, Keystone Mercy #31
Philadelphia, PA – Three Medicaid health plans in the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies ranked favorably among Medicaid health plans nationwide, according to U.S. News & World Report/NCQA America’s Best Health Plans 2007. Passport Health Plan, based in Louisville, KY, was among the best plans in America, ranking #11 out of nearly 200 Medicaid plans.
Two other Medicaid plans of the AmeriHealth Mercy Families of Companies who participated in the survey were also favorably rated. The AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan in Harrisburg, PA, ranked #30; Keystone Mercy in Philadelphia, PA, was ranked at #31.

Released in the November 5th edition of U.S. News & World Report, this collaborative study ranked the nation’s commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans based on access to care (member’s ability to get needed care, quickly, health plan customer service), overall member satisfaction, prevention services (health screenings, prenatal care, childhood and adolescent immunizations, avoiding antibiotic overuse and well-child visits), treatment (how well the plan takes care of on-going health problems), and overall quality score (a combination of the scores from the four main categories above and NCQA accreditation). “America’s Best Health Plans” is a trademark of U.S. News & World Report.
