AmeriHealth Mercy President and Chief Executive Officer Appoints Joyce S. Hagen as Chief Marketing and Development Officer
Philadelphia, PA – Michael A. Rashid, President and Chief Executive Officer of the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies, the largest organization of Medicaid managed care plans and related businesses in the United States, announced today that Joyce S. Hagen has been appointed Chief Marketing and Development Officer of the company, effective immediately.
In this newly created position, Hagen will oversee strategy and execution, market expansion, sales and marketing, communications, and product development for the company. Prior to assuming her new position, Hagen served as Regional President, Midwest Region, for the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies, which she joined in 1998. As Regional President, she provided oversight and administration for MDwise Hoosier Alliance and MDwise Care Select in Indiana, as well as Passport Health Plan and Passport Advantage in Kentucky.
With more than 25 years in the health care industry, Ms. Hagen brings a wealth of experience to this position. Ms. Hagen began her career as an ER nurse in Chicago. She has also worked as a multi-specialty clinic manager, an insurance director, a consultant, a wellness company president and as president of Blue Cross of Kentucky’s state-wide, 300,000-member PPO health plan early in her career.
